Direct Line Group CEO Employee Awards

Each year DLG (formally part of the RBS) run very specific and targeted employee engagement activity to engage and reward their staff and ensure they live their carefully crafted company values.  DLG look to recognise and reward those exceptional individuals that live the company values throughout the year.  The activity is not about rewarding top salespeople. It’s not about the ‘what’ but more about the ‘how’ i.e. how people behave within the working environment, be it towards their colleagues or putting the customer at the heart of everything they do.

Over a period of 6 weeks employees are invited to nominate their colleagues for the ways in which they’ve lived the values. These awards are judged by the people for the people in an open and transparent way.

The nominations culminate in 1000 people being recognised locally, with 300 invited to London to a gala award ceremony where the winner for each of the 7 values is announced.  Unmissable created 30 different bespoke rewards specifically with the values in mind for the winners to choose from.  These varied from a Direct Line Group Sleepover at the London Museum, to a VIP concert of their choice, Michelin starred dining experience and a chance to spruce up their homes with a Makeover.

Each year the activity is an enormous success and it’s now in its 7th year. It gives employees a real chance to get involved, work with each other in recognising their efforts and win some amazing prizes.
